How to Inject NAD+

A Guide on Self-Administering NAD+

This short guide walks you through how to safely and effectively self-inject NAD+. You'll learn how to prepare your materials, handle the syringe correctly, and follow proper injection techniques. Each step is designed to make the process simple, comfortable, and safe—from start to finish, including post-injection care.

Getting Ready

  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water.
  • Gather your supplies. You will typically need:
    • Your NAD+ vial
    • A new syringe and needle
    • Alcohol pads
  • Choose your injection site. For subcutaneous injections, common areas include:
    • The abdomen (avoid the 2-inch area directly around the belly button)
    • The thigh
    • The upper arm
  • Clean your chosen injection site with an alcohol pad and allow it to air dry.

Preparing the Syringe

  • Remove the cap from the NAD+ vial.
  • Clean the vial’s rubber stopper with a new alcohol pad.
  • Draw air into the syringe equal to the amount of NAD+ you plan to inject. This helps equalize pressure in the vial.
  • Insert the needle into the vial and push the plunger to inject the air.
  • Invert the vial so the needle is submerged in the fluid.
  • Draw the desired amount of NAD+ into the syringe.
  • Remove any bubbles by gently tapping the syringe so the bubbles rise to the top. Press the plunger slightly until the bubbles are expelled.

Administering the Injection

  • Pinch the skin at your chosen injection site.
  • Hold the syringe like a dart and insert the needle into the skin at a 45–90° angle.
  • Release the pinched skin once the needle is inserted, then slowly depress the plunger to inject the NAD+ solution.
  • Withdraw the needle from the skin.
  • Dispose of the used syringe and needle in a sharps container.
